Well, not completely. Things are still on track with the community. The Board did in fact select and moved to a new community management group! Yes! PMG is no more, and now enters Montage Community Services. They are a locally owned and operated management company with closer ties to the community. Welcome Montage as you may see them doing drive thrus, hosting functions, sending paperwork... overall being more involved than our last management company. This is good for the community as we are not just seen as a number to the management company... we are a community and Montage strives to deliver.
Like everyone else, the HOA has been affected by Covid 19, personally and community wise. There have been Federal and State orders and stipulations for things like parks in our community, the pool in our community, how we meet, etc. Similar to what other organizations are going through, as a community we need to understand that there are processes and procedures to go through to ensure 1) we are following the law, 2) caring for the safety of our community. Montage has been a major help through the process, and has been keeping us an an HOA and community up to date on recent events. Unfortunately it has been a moving target. One major ask from the community has been to open the pool, and we just could not do so at the normal time due to lockdowns. WIth the state opening many businesses, we have now the option to open the pool, but with specific safety restrictions that each resident MUST sign off on. No pool furniture will be out so transmittal of Covid is reduced, and we leave it up to the residents to keep social distancing while the pool is in use. As of now (Weekend of July 4th, 2020)... the pool has been opened for those residents that have signed the attestation, and are up to date on HOA fees. Violators will not be tolerated, as safety of the community is very important. At least you have the option to use the pool this year!
Check back every now and then for updates, as things may change, with the pool, and with upcoming events. Like said previously, the pandemic is is moving target... don't know what tomorrow brings. What we do hope for the community is health and hopefully a different and fun summer for the residents of our community.
Happy holidays to the homeowners of Cottonwood! As we wind down the year I wanted to look back at what was accomplished this year, and give some insight to whats coming up next. 2019 was a good year overall, and I expect 2020 to be even better!
What were some of the changes made for homeowners? Well... we replaced the fencing along Cottonwood School road using professional services. We also dropped the life guards at the pool making the pool a "swim at your own risk" pool. New badging system installed and distributed access cards to residents to get into the pool (please do not lose those, they are reusable and there will be a charge for replacements). We were able to put up monitored cameras to help protect the neighborhood investment (pool). Planted flowers at the entrances, and were able to put some tropical trees around the pool for aesthetics and to fill those areas around the pool that are always bare. Also replaced the flag at the entrance twice.
So... what changes do we have planned for 2020? More flowers at the entrances, as it just doesn't seem enough with what we did this passed year. Though the biggest change will be changing to a new management company. YES! we are dropping PMG, we have heard the homeowners, and the board has had our own problems with PMG to where we think it is time. We hope that the homeowners like the new management company... as much as we do. They are a local smaller business that wants to have involvement in the communities they serve. This will be a huge plus, and will save the homeowners a little money by not having to raise the overall HOA fees. On top of this... there are free options to pay HOA fees with... or you have the choice of driving over there (as they are close). I am sure there will be other projects... but this is what we have on the road-map.
From the HOA board to the homeowners of Cottonwood... we wish everyone a happy, and healthy holiday, and a safe new year!
Wanted to give some updates regarding what is going on this year as far as improvements in the subdivision, and where some of all of our hard earned money is going toward!!
